The original painting happened after a cold November walk with my dog. We walked next to a cornfield at night, barren and frozen. Only the stars in the sky and the faraway trees adorned the scene. 

I thought to myself, “I wish I could put all kinds of happy lights on this field for the winter.” I went back home and re-imagined the scene on a canvas.
